Israel: Paternity Test May Soon No Longer Be Required in Gay Adoption Cases For Children Born Through Gestational Surrogate to at Least One Biological Parent

Report that same-sex male couple who conceived a child with the assistance of a gestational surrogate overseas (ie United States) may no longer have to prove that at least one of the child’s parents is a biological parent through a paternity test at the time of filing for the adoption.  In a lower Family Court ruling in Tel Aviv issued this past Sunday but announced yesterday, the Court likely waived the paternity test due to the couples meticulous record keeping proving that at least one of the child’s parents was a biological parent.
