In Italy, Gay Adoption Determined on Case-by-Case Basis

A Court in Italy on April 29, 2016 allowed a same-sex couple to adopt each other’s child.  Legislation in Italy is heavily influenced by the Vatican and does not expressly provide for  gay adoption; however, couples have had some success in relying on legislation in Italy that favors”emotional continuity” for a child on a case-by-case basis.

Surrogacy Ban In Nepal Leaves Dwindling Lower Cost Options

Nepal‘s September 2015 surrogacy ban reduces options for opposite-sex and same-sex couples pursuing reduced cost surrogacy arrangements.   Nepal now joins a list of other developing countries banning surrogacy.  Opponents of Surrogacy cite exploitation of surrogates who are poor with limited-to-no protections and lack of protections for babies rejected by intended parents.
